How to Pray Eid al-Fitr
Eid al-Fitr is a day of joy and gratitude for Muslims. It comes at the end of Ramadan, when we fast, worship, and learn patience for the entire month. The most important act of worship on Eid morning is the Eid prayer, which all Muslims perform together.
Many people, especially young people or those who rarely perform Eid prayers, ask how to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers. This guide is for this, so that everyone can easily understand.
I myself have performed Eid prayers sometimes in the open field, sometimes in the mosque, and sometimes in a small hall. One thing is common everywhere: joy, unity, and gratitude to Allah.

What is Eid al-Fitr
Eid al-Fitr is celebrated to celebrate the end of Ramadan. It is a day to thank Allah for allowing us to fast.
It is important to give Zakat al-Fitr before Eid so that the poor can also join in the joy of Eid.

There are different opinions among scholars on this.
According to some scholars, Eid prayer is obligatory, especially for men. According to others, it is a confirmed sunnah. But all agree that Eid prayer is very important and should not be skipped.
Eid prayer time
Eid prayer is performed shortly after sunrise. Usually, the prayer is performed 15 to 20 minutes after sunrise and lasts until before Zuhr.
It is considered better to perform the prayer a little later on Eid so that people can pay Zakat al-Fitr.
There is no adhan or iqamah for Eid prayer.

How to pray Eid al-Fitr
The Eid prayer consists of two rak’ahs and there are additional takbirs in it.
First rak’ah
Make the intention in your heart that I am praying two rak’ahs of Eid al-Fitr for Allah.
Start the prayer by saying Allahu Akbar.
After the Sana’, the Imam will say additional takbirs.
Usually, there are three additional takbirs in the first rak’ah.
Raise your hands and release them after each takbir.
Then Surah Fatiha and another Surah are recited.
Perform the bowing and prostration as in normal prayer.
Second rak’ah
In the second rak’ah, Surah Fatiha and one Surah are recited.
Before bowing, the Imam will say three additional takbirs.
Raise your hands on each takbir.
Then bow.
After prostration and tashahhud, return the greeting.
Eid sermon
The imam gives the sermon after the Eid prayer.
Unlike Friday, the Eid sermon is given after the prayer. Listening to the sermon is Sunnah and it is better to sit and listen.
Common mistakes in Eid prayer
Since Eid prayer is held twice a year, people get nervous.
Common mistakes are:
Confusion in additional takbirs
Not following the imam
Haltly leaving the prayer
If a mistake is made, there is no need to panic, complete the prayer with the imam.
Can Eid prayer be offered at home
If a person is unable to offer Eid prayer with the congregation due to illness or any other compulsion, according to some scholars, he can offer two rak’ahs at home, without the sermon.
It is better to seek guidance from local scholars in this regard.
Eid Prayer for Women
Women are also allowed to attend Eid prayers, provided that they wear a veil.
It is a beautiful opportunity to join in the joys of Eid.
Spiritual Importance of Eid Prayer
Eid prayer teaches us gratitude, unity, and equality.
All Muslims stand in a row to remind us that we are all equal and servants of Allah.
What to do after prayer
After prayer:
Wish each other Eid Mubarak
Meet relatives and friends
Share happiness
Show good manners
The real Eid is in good behavior and purity of heart.
Finally
The Eid prayer is very easy to understand. When the method is understood, the day of Eid seems even more beautiful.
According to my personal experience, when a person knows what he is doing, the pleasure of worship increases.
May Allah accept all our worship and grant us a happy Eid.
