There was a time when my life seemed very difficult. I was sitting alone after Fajr. I had a lot of worry, tension and sadness in my heart. I tried to explain my heart to people, but no one could fully understand the pain in my heart.

Then I silently raised my hands and prayed to Allah. There were no difficult words, no long words. Just the truth of my heart.

That day my heart found peace.

The problem did not end immediately, but my heart was light. I felt that Allah was listening to me. This is the real power of prayer. Prayer does not only change circumstances, but it also changes a person’s heart.

In Islam, prayer is not just a ritual. It is a beautiful relationship between a person and Allah. When a person is in trouble, prayer gives him hope. It gives him strength in weakness and comfort in grief.

What is prayer in Islam?

Prayer means calling upon Allah. It is talking directly to Allah. It does not require a special place or language. Allah hears the voice of every person. He also sees tears and knows the silent things of the heart.

Many people think that worship is only prayer, fasting or reading the Quran. But prayer is also a great worship. Prayer humbles a person and reminds him that the real power lies only with Allah.

Once during a journey, I met an elderly man. He told me a very beautiful thing.

He said, “People think that power lies in money or a big position. The real power lies in who your heart goes to in difficult times.”

This thing is still in my heart to this day.

Why is prayer so powerful?

Prayer connects the weakness of man with the strength of Allah. Man is weak, but Allah can do everything. Man gets tired, but Allah never gets tired.

When a person prays with a sincere heart, he accepts that he cannot do everything alone. This feeling brings Allah’s mercy closer.

Prayer gives peace to the heart

The greatest virtue of prayer is that it gives peace to the heart. Sometimes a person’s heart gets peace even before the prayer is accepted.

There were many nights when I could not sleep. Many thoughts kept running through my mind. During these nights, I learned that talking to Allah gives a person a peace of mind that nothing in the world can give.

Problems may remain, but the heart becomes strong.

Prayer creates hope

Every person experiences disappointment at some point in life. Sometimes people leave you. Sometimes plans fail.

At such times, prayer gives a person hope.

A Muslim knows that Allah can make every difficulty easy. No matter how big the problem is.

Prayer strengthens faith

A person who prays more becomes closer to Allah. Gradually, he starts seeing small blessings in his life.

Sometimes a person later realizes that the thing he used to cry for was not good for him.

The best time to pray

Prayer can be prayed at any time, but some times are very special.

At the time of Tahajjud

Prayer in the silence of the night has its own special peace. At this time, a person’s heart becomes soft and a person feels closer to Allah.

I still remember when I woke up for Tahajjud in a difficult time. There was silence everywhere. There was no sound of a mobile phone, no noise. I was in the bus and my prayers.

Those moments were very beautiful.

After prayer

Supplication after prayer gives a lot of peace to the heart because at that time a person is in a state of worship.

During fasting

The prayer of a fasting person is very special. Especially before breaking the fast, a person’s heart becomes very soft.

On Friday

Friday is a blessed day in Islam. There comes a time on this day when prayers are accepted.

How should one pray?

Many people think that difficult words are necessary for prayer. But the real thing is a sincere heart.

Talk to Allah from the heart.

Tell Allah all your worries, fears and hopes.

Start by praising Allah

Before starting the prayer, praise Allah and send blessings on Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ.

Pray with full conviction

When praying, one should believe in one’s heart that Allah is capable of everything.

Be patient

Sometimes prayers are accepted immediately. Sometimes Allah accepts it later for a better time. And sometimes Allah gives a person something even better in return.

That is why patience is very important.

Not every prayer is accepted the way we want

A person understands this with time.

There was a time when I wanted something very much. I used to pray for it every day. But I did not get it.

At that time, I was very sad.

Later, I realized that maybe that thing was not good for me. Allah saved me from some big loss.

Allah sees the whole picture, while man only sees a small part.

The importance of prayer in daily life

Prayer is not only for big problems. It should be a part of daily life.

In times of worry

Even a small prayer can give peace to a person’s heart.

Before important decisions

Marriage, education, job or travel. Before every important task, one should ask Allah for help.

For family members

Praying for parents, children and loved ones is a very beautiful act.

At the time of illness

Illness weakens a person, but prayer gives a person courage.

To ask for forgiveness

Every person makes mistakes. Prayer gives a person an opportunity to ask for forgiveness from Allah.

Small prayers are also very important

Sometimes a small sincere prayer is very powerful.

“O Allah, help me”

Even this small prayer from the heart can change a person’s life.

The real thing in Islam is the truth of the heart.

The beauty of talking to Allah

The most beautiful thing about prayer is that a person tells Allah those things He can tell you what no one else can tell you.

People may not understand you, but Allah knows everything.

Many times I used to sit alone and talk to Allah about everything in my heart. Without any fear.

In such moments, the heart felt strangely at peace.

Sometimes tears also become prayers.

Teach children the importance of prayer

Children should be taught the habit of prayer from the beginning. They should be told that prayer is not just memorized words but is an act of love for Allah.

A child who learns to pray also learns hope, patience and gratitude.

Common mistakes in prayer

Remembering Allah only in difficult times

Many people pray only in times of trouble. But one should remember Allah even in times of happiness.

Giving up too quickly

If a prayer is not answered immediately, one should not be disappointed.

Praying without paying attention

Instead of just repeating words, one should pray from the heart.
